Welcome Week: Electrical & Electronic and Mechatronics
by Dr. Roselina Arelhi & Dr. Nafizah Khan
The past week saw an exciting beginning for the Year 1 students with the Welcome Week organised by the Department. It was wonderful to see the campus spring to life with many young enthusiasts. This year promises to be an exciting one. The Department is implementing a new programme structure that aims to provide an improved platform for student’s lifelong learning; the outcome of the Department’s CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) exercise, a joint effort between the UK, China and Malaysia campuses.
During the Welcome Week, students were engaged in various activities such as attending talks on Safety on Campus and in Laboratories, Institution of Engineers Malaysia, Technical Writing Workshop and Popping your Bubble: The s-CPD. There were also ice-breaking sessions such as group quiz, teambuilding and treasure hunt, where students were sent to all corners of the campus to search for items including capturing photos with the glamorous ducks by the lake.
Sadly, all fun must come to an end. The year as an undergraduate begins this week with learning and teaching activities: the pathway to pursue dreams and chart a successful future. Wishing students all the best for the years ahead!
